A wave of ATV thefts is moving north, and the stolen vehicles have a high value, the police said on their website.

Last week, ATVs were stolen in the municipalities of Vindeln and Vilhelmina. The thefts took place during the night.

The police are interested in any information regarding the thefts. Anyone who sees unfamiliar vehicles or people should try to note specific details such as license plate numbers or the like.

To make it more difficult for thieves, police recommend that you:

** Park the ATV in a garage or well-lit area. The garage or location should preferably have an alarm, ideally with a camera.

** Keep the car keys in a secure place, not next to the outside door or in a jacket pocket.

** Use enhanced security with real-time tracking capability, such as a GPS tracker

** Mark the ATV for theft protection.

** Apply to the Swedish Transport Administration (Transportstyrelsen) for advertisement blocking regarding your vehicle. This will prevent organized gangs from accessing information about vehicles registered to your address.
