Officers were called to the scene east of Vännäs on Tuesday morning after reports of an injured person. The man was initially conscious and able to speak but later died in hospital.
Due to the circumstances, police have launched a murder investigation. A person has been taken into custody and is being questioned.
– We are currently working on the investigation, conducting interviews, and carrying out a technical examination of the crime scene, said Alexander Johansson, the on-duty investigation leader.
The area around the crime scene has been cordoned off, and police, including a search dog, are at the scene.
