It was early in the morning that the alarm was sent to the emergency services. A fire had broken out in one of the apartments in the building and the firemen were working up in the attic to put out the fire. All residents had been evacuated from the building and no one was harmed.
It became clear farily quicly that the building was beyond saving and in the late morning the entire building was on fire and eventually collapsed.
The firemen are working to cool down the burning building and surrounding buildings so that the fire does not spread.
– There are still risks. There is a tank in the corner of the building, says Peter Granberg at the emergency servies and points to the rubble that remains after the fire.
– We could have an explosion so we don't want people to be there.
Is it a gas tank?
– It is some kind of old oil tank. It's empty but there's still a risk.
Update 17:26
It is reported that there were four apartments and around 10 people living in the building. There was also an entrepreneur renting premises in the building.
The latest update is that there is some emergency personnel still guarding the site but there is no longer any information about any risk of explosion.
