Several villages near Skellefteå are hosting a joint flea market event this Saturday, where visitors can explore multiple markets on foot or by car.
Gärdsmark offers a unique experience with flea markets scattered along its seven-kilometer-long lake. To add to the fun, Therese Lundberg will open her toy museum, featuring a collection of toys from the 1960s to the 1980s, including Märklin trains. Refreshments will also be available.
– It's mostly toys from my childhood in the 1980s, but also some items from when my dad and uncle grew up in the 1960s, including Märklin trains, she says.
The toy museum boasts a collection of seventeen My Little Pony figurines. An admission fee to the museum is voluntary.
Several villages near the airport will also host flea markets. Långviken has fourteen signed up so far. Weather permitting, attendees can enjoy grilled burgers at the harbor. Regardless of the weather, the flea markets will happen.
Lasse Forslund, head of the Sjöbotten bönhusförening, has spearheaded the multi-village flea market event.
– We decided to host a flea market and invited neighboring villages to join us, he explains.
– By collaborating, we can attract more visitors to the area.
Sjöbotten alone will feature seven flea markets.
To help visitors navigate the different markets, balloons and flea market signs will be displayed at participating households.
