After the turn of the year, the diesel price dropped by just over four kronor per liter.
The new year brought relaxed environmental standards for both petrol and diesel. This means that a smaller amount of biofuel has to be blended with the fuels, which makes them cheaper.
At the same time, taxes on gasoline and diesel were reduced.
As a result, the price of diesel dropped by just under 4.50 kronor.
All this meant that those who filled up after the New Year were very happy, says Linnea Eliasson, assistant station manager at OKQ8 in Solbacken.
– This receipt needs to be framed, some customers said.
It was a pleasant surprise for those who filled up that day.
A similar price drop occurred at the Circle K on Mackvägen in the south of the city. We actually ran out of diesel, says station manager Josefin Lindholm.
It was only out for a short time. We also had another type of diesel, so we were not completely out.
– It's unusual for diesel to run out, but it does happen sometimes, she says.
– It has happened in unusual scenarios, such as during the recent snowstorm.
