The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) is considering issuing a public heat advisory, potentially coupled with a high forest fire risk warning.

– These temperatures are absolutely abnormal for May, emphasizes meteorologist Viktor Bergman. But the end could be in sight.

Although the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has revised its weekend forecast for Skellefteå, swapping predictions of clouds and cooler weather for clear skies and temperatures reaching a toasty 27 degrees Celsius, Anders Wettergren of SMHI advises a cautious approach to sunbathing plans.

– There's still some uncertainty in the forecast. There's a slight chance of showers, but overall, Västerbotten seems to be in a much better position compared to the rest of the country.

Sunday will see a slight dip in temperature, but it's still expected to remain a pleasant 20 degrees.
