Stationsgatan is closed, so the student trucks will go via the new roundabout on Kanalgatan – Södra Lasarettsvägen – Storgatan. Here you can see all the routes:
Expect heavy traffic in central Skellefteå, particularly along these routes. Consider leaving your car at home if possible.
Please note that alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited on the student trucks (flakåk). Drivers are encouraged to appoint a "flakvärd" (truck supervisor) responsible for enforcing this rule and removing any students who misbehave.
– Ultimately, the driver is held accountable for any problems that arise on the trucks, says municipal police officer Ewa Öberg Öström.
The police, through the principals of the municipal schools, have also urged students to consider the content of their banners to avoid any offensive messages.
– We will also be on-site in the morning to inspect as many vehicles as possible, to prevent accidents.
During the graduation ceremony, it's typical for students to receive stuffed animals and other items around their necks. There may even be "small bottles" of sparkling wine.
In such cases, Ewa Öberg Öström has a message for relatives and friends:
– Giving alcoholic bottles to minors is actually a crime. Not many people realize that! Choose non-alcoholic beverages instead.
Birgitta Lindström, deputy head of the department for secondary education, also advises visitors against throwing confetti.
– Firstly, we want to avoid littering in the churchyard at Landskyrkan, and secondly, for environmental reasons as confetti is made of plastic, she says.
