A deep and widespread low-pressure system is expected to bring large amounts of rain, especially on Monday. Forecasters are predicting there will be between 50 and 100 millimeters of rain. The warning covers much of the country, and SMHI reports that it's difficult to predict where the rainfall will be most intense. Locally, there could be very heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
The warning is in effect from 18:00 on Sunday, but according to the current forecast, the rain in the Skellefteå area is not expected to start until around eight o'clock on Monday morning.
SMHI says there is a risk of slowed traffic due to flooded roads, basements, storm drains, roads and overpasses.
The warning applies to the central part of Skellefteå and southwards until 23:00 on Monday. It is forecast to rain more or less continuously between Monday and Wednesday next week.
