The issue, which began around 6:00 AM, severely hampered the health center's operations.
– We have significant problems; we can't access anything, said Anette Marklund, chief assistant at Heimdall. Staff discovered the issue upon arrival and faced challenges accessing patient records, making outbound calls, and receiving inbound calls.
– It's difficult, explained Marklund.
– We're working to find alternative solutions, but there will be delays.
This includes using mobile phones for outbound calls and relying on colleagues in Boliden to send appointment lists via fax.
Despite the disruptions, Marklund assured patients that the health center remained open.
– There is staff on-site, so you will be taken care of anyway. However, please be aware that it may not be a typical visit.
Skellefteå Kraft, the local energy provider, acknowledged the issue and apologized for the inconvenience.
– We are working diligently to resolve the problem, said press spokesperson Elin Ala.
– A planned fiber network upgrade last night led to a technical fault. Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide an estimated time for resolution.
