The Moderates' leader in Skellefteå, Andreas Löwenhöök says:

– Nuclear power is crucial for Sweden's electricity supply.

In the proposal to the city council, the Moderates in Skellefteå propose that the city should develop a nuclear power plan. The purpose of the plan would be the identification of suitable areas for the construction of nuclear power plants, where there would be as few conflicting interests as possible. Similar work is already underway for wind power.

The party believes that a nuclear power plan is needed because of the growing demand for expanded and predictable electricity production.

- We want to build new nuclear power plants in Sweden and keep the ones we already have. In order to manage the reindustrialization of Norrland, the Moderates in Skellefteå say yes to nuclear power in Skellefteå municipality, says Löwenhöök in a press release.
