The 22-year-old Isac has previously worked at Latitude 64 and Northvolt but after his trial employment ran out at Latitude he chose to start his own company. The idea came from Isac having seen the concept on social media.
– If you’ve had a really bad day when nothing goes your way you may get the urge to throw your computer to the ground. But that could get really expensive and your boss might not be very happy. So instead you can come and do that at ours, he says and goes on:
– It’s a tried and tested concept abroad. I saw it online and I’ve thought about starting it for a number of years.
The plan is for the company to open some time in mid-July. The premises is on Lagergatan on Hedensbyn next to Skelleftehamnsleden. Guests will be able to pay to break things in a 30 square metre room. The price will vary depending on the amount of time you want to spend and the number of objects you want to smash.
– You could for example break IT equipment, glass bottles, crockery and other things we can get hold of that is fun to smash up. We’re actively looking for objects so if you have things you want to get rid of, get in touch with us. We want to have a lot of local collaborations, says Isac Carli and continues:
– Guests will also have tools to aid them. Everything from baseball bats to smaller crowbars to pipe wrenches.
Is there any risk that you increase the level of anger in society?
– Good question. I’ve thought about that myself. We’re a form of alternative therapy. If you come to us you can break things in a controlled environment instead of going out smashing things up around town. I don’t think we contribute to more anger.
The objects will be rubbish that is otherwise to taken to the dump. Some of the rubbish will be collected from various companies. After it has been smashed up the company will take it to a recycling station.
Is there any risk that objects are wasted that could otherwise have been used?
– We’re working with things that are being thrown out. For example, chipped crockery that is going to the recycling station anyway. Instead it takes a detour to us before it gets to its final destination.
