Last week, Norran reported that the airline BRA would stop flying between Stockholm and Skellefteå. The reason given was that the customer base was too small. Before Christmas, Ryanair also decided to stop flying on the route.
Now SAS, the only airline that will operate the route from April, announces that it will introduce new departures to and from Stockholm. The new departures will be on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
– We are very pleased that SAS has now decided to expand its traffic to and from Skellefteå Airport. These two frequencies on Mondays and Thursdays have been in great demand because the need is so great. The expansion is especially important for the growing number of commuters to and from Skellefteå, says Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefteå Airport, in a press release.
The new departures will start on April 8.
