Pitch-perfect: Karaoke chain aims for Skellefteå bar

The karaoke chain Sing Sing wants to come to Skellefteå. The chain has karaoke bars in several places in Sweden and Norway. "Everyone wants to be in Skellefteå. We see it as a fantastic city and one of the hottest places in Sweden," says expansion manager Jonas Skepp.

The pub offers more traditional karaoke nights a few times a week. Guests can sing together in a communal space instead of individual rooms. The photo is from the chain's bar in Trondheim.

Karaoke chain Sing Sing, established in 2017 in Gothenburg, offers individual soundproof rooms for group karaoke sessions, along with alcohol and Asian street food. The chain now announces its intention to expand to Skellefteå.

– Skellefteå is highly prioritized on our list. We just need a suitable location and a good manager, says Jonas Skepp.

The establishment also hosts traditional karaoke nights occasionally, allowing guests to sing in a collective space instead of individual rooms. The company has begun searching for both franchisees and suitable premises in Skellefteå. However, the opening date remains uncertain, depending on finding the right manager.

Are you actively looking for the right manager?

– We always are.

Sing Sing is owned by Social Entertainment Group, which also owns Harrys and O'Learys. While they expressed interest in opening a Harrys in Skellefteå, challenges, including a lack of suitable locations, have hindered progress.

– We currently have neither franchisees nor premises. Nothing has materialized on that front. We have explored a few locations, but none fit the concept, says Skepp.
