On Sunday, September 10, a man in his 40s was found dead at Solbacken in Skellefteå. The man was a European citizen and lived in a barrack residence in Skellefteå.

Initially, the police classified the incident as a suspected murder because there were unclear circumstances surrounding the death, and the possibility of a crime could not be ruled out.

An area in Solbacken with a large number of barrack dwellings was cordoned off during the initial phase of the investigation. The area was searched with the help of a dog, evidence was collected and several people were interviewed.

No one was arrested and there was no suspect.

In addition to various on-site investigations, a forensic examination was conducted. It determined that the 40-year-old died as a result of an accident or an unintentional event.

As a result, the preliminary investigation was closed on November 13, according to the police website.
