– We set an ambitious goal to attract 80,000 visitors. Now after a quick evaluation we've found that it was achieved, says Gunnar Karlsson.
On the Saturday night, acts such as Benjamin Ingrosso and Scooter performed in front of 30,000 visitors at Norrvalla sports ground.
– It’s always a worry when you establish a new festival like we did last year. But many people say that this is a better location for the festival. There’s more space, says Karlsson.
The festival has chosen to put more effort into sport and cultural events in addition to the regular offerings. Something that has given the festival great nuance, Gunnar says.
– It’s been very appreciated and we’re of course happy about that. Overall the response has been incredibly positive from all involved. There have been positive feedback coming in from all directions, he says.
After the Gröna Lund accident there was a worry about security at amusement parks.
– That added some phobia to the tivoli activities but it doesn’t seem to have discouraged visitors from the attractions we had in the area. The organisers said that people stood in line for half an hour to have a go on the rides.
Next year’s edition of Summertime will be on the same weekend as this year and the planning will get going properly in September.
– In October we’ll probably be able to release some names who’ll be on stage next year, says Gunnar Karlsson.
