Around 11:30 PM, an alarm was received. There was a fire in a multi-family house in Byske. Firefighting units from Skellefteå, Byske, and Fällfors were dispatched.
One person was reportedly transported to the hospital by ambulance. The extent of the injuries is unclear.
By midnight, the fire was extinguished, and crews remained to ensure it hadn't spread. They also assisted with ventilation. The apartment suffered heavy smoke damage. Shortly after 1:00 AM, the firefighters were done and returned to the station.
The area is cordoned off.

According to an operator at SOS Alarm, the fire involved an exterior wall.
"The operation was completed at 01:15 AM," the operator said.

The apartment has been sealed off pending a technical investigation.
The incident is being classified as either arson or reckless endangerment.
