About the delayed opening of Vitbergsbadet, area manager Niklas Furberg says,
–It's very disappointing that it turned out this way.
The pool is expected to open on July 10. The pools at Byske havsbad and Eddahallen will open as usual on June 17. Eddahallen will have extra opening hours during weekends to compensate for the delay at Vitbergsbadet.
– Eddahallen will be open four weekends from June 17, says Niklas.
Kågebadet, which has been marked by uncertainties whether the pool would be open at all this year, is now back on track and will open its pool on June 25.
– We have painted and made improvements and will open as usual on June 25, says the new chair of Kågebadet's friends, Malin Sanderyd.
Spring's cold weather delayed the maintenance work.
– Scraping, blasting, sanding and painting requires a certain temperature, and due to the cold weather, the start of the repairs was late, says Niklas.
When the water is cold in the sea and lakes, many people head to Vitbergsbadet.
– We are needed in early summer, says Niklas.
"The work is done to ensure the pool is safe for visitors and to avoid future problems," says property manager Stefan Lundström in a press release from Skellefteå municipality.
It's the cracks and cavities in the larger wave pool and the children's pool that need to be repaired, he says in the release.
