The weather has been unusually mild for this time of year, and many have probably felt that spring has arrived with the sunshine. But now, things are about to change.
In other words, it looks like typical Skellefteå April weather, with sudden shifts between warm and cold.
– A low-pressure system is expected to move over Västerbotten tomorrow, bringing colder air, says Linus Karlsson, a meteorologist at SMHI.
If Wednesday is cold, Thursday will feel even more like winter. Spring will disappear and be replaced by snow.
– Snow is expected on Thursday. In Skellefteå, about five centimeters of snow is predicted. We'll have to see how much actually stays on the ground, but since the ground will be cold, some snow will likely accumulate, says Karlsson.
For those who have been looking forward to spring, the wait won’t be long. According to SMHI, the wintry weather won't last, and temperatures will go up again over the weekend.
What about the weather for the Easter holiday next week?
– Early next week, Skellefteå is expected to go back to more spring-like weather with sunshine and temperatures above freezing, the meteorologist promises.
