Kantar Media today released the annual measurement of the circulation of the daily press (the so-called TS edition) for the calendar year 2022. The report includes both paper newspaper subscriptions and digital subscriptions.
For 2022, Norran had a total circulation of 19,000, an increase of 1.1% compared to 2021's figure, which was 18,800. The largest part of the increase is accounted for by an uptick in digital readership.
— To not only maintain the circulation but also increase it is an enormous achievement in today's media climate, and proof that our development work yields results, says Malin Christoffersson.
She attributes a large part of the success to Norran's digital investment and a clear content prioritization based on solid analysis of which material is most liked.
— We are close to the readers and our daily contact with them is an important factor in our news work. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who follows us and contributes to the survival of local journalism. In addition, a warm thank you to Norran's employees who have really done a great job! Now we continue to invest in making our content even better. For example, we recently launched an English section on our news site to include more of the new Skellefteåns in what's happening here.
More newspapers in the north have also enjoyed growth. VK, Folkbladet and NSD all increased their circulation. PT lost 1.7% and Norrbottens-Kuriren's edition is unchanged from 2021.
