40 new apartments ready in the summer

More building of rental properties is well underway in Skellefteå. 40 apartments are being built in the middle of a residential area, and they will be rented out via Riksbyggen.

When the new residential area Falkträsket was opened up for construction, the construction of terraced houses began soon after, to be followed by the detached houses. Now the area will be complete when the apartment buildings are finished

The new block will have its entrance from Foxgatan, and there are now four buildings with ten apartments in each. The buildings are two storeys high, and are made of prefabricated wooden modules made by a company in Småland.

A few weeks ago, the last apartments were put in place, and now earthworks and exterior work are underway. The most important work is to build the stairwells, so that the upper floors can be accessed. You then enter each apartment via loft corridors.

– From March onwards, we will start working more indoors, then the electrical and plumbing people will come to complete each apartment, says Andreas Niklasson at the company Forsen, who is the project manager for the construction.

– In the spring, we will finish by making around 40 parking spaces to serve the apartments, as well as green areas.

The houses will be owned by Arkadia Bostad, but Riksbyggen is responsible for the maintenance and offers rental contracts according to information on its website. February 13 is the last day to register.

The apartments are one, two and three beds with areas from 33 to 69 square meters. The rents will be between 6,300 kronor and 10,700 kronor. The homes will be ready to move into in June 2023.
