When Norran visited, they were working on interior walls and customer toilets.
– We're excited to finally have more space, says store manager Frida Holmgren.
– Both staff and customers have felt a bit cramped, so this expansion is welcome.
Skelleftebygg is the main contractor for the project, which began in August 2023 with the foundation.
Construction has progressed smoothly – the roof was finished in December, and currently, the focus is on interior walls, painting, and installing utilities. Site manager Daniel Engman expects everything to be ready by autumn as planned.
– Biltema's been a great partner, Engman says. "
– They have a clear vision for the space.
The new store will feature large glass windows facing Nöppelbergsvägen, a central entrance, and a relocated bistro area.
– This will allow us to showcase our product range much better, explains Holmgren.
Biltema's investment reflects Skellefteå's growth, and Holmgren adds:
– We'll be needing additional staff as well.

Currently, a temporary wall separates the existing store from the new construction.
– We'll also be refreshing the current space once the new one is open for business, Holmgren concludes.
Temporary barracks have been set up while the construction is ongoing. How this part of the area will be when everything is finished is still being planned.
