July 4 Music at Bryggarbacken
Skellefteå Musikaliska puts on four free events during the month of July featuring local artists. First out is the jazz band Holmström/Bergner trio with Peter Fjällström and Åsa Granlund Jonsson. Support act: the indie band Hök. Please bring a picnic basket and your own chair.
July 6–August 10 Summer jazz by the sea
For five Thursdays Kurjovikens sjökrog will put on local music with, in chronological order, Jazzmyrorna /Skeå Saxkvartett, Live & Ann-Sofie, Mandolinkillen med O'vänner, Boströmsbäckens vänner and Steamin Jesaja.
July 8–9 Music in Örviken
The singer Saga Eserstam and guitarist Hans Ericsson will perform at the boat house in Örviken this summer. Over two evenings the duo will treat the audience to interpretations of Swedish summer songs.
July 11 Music at Bryggarbacken
One of the most prominent Skellefteå bands of the 1990s, Mindre Modiga Män, plays Swedish pop. Support act: alt-rock/the metal band Manistar.
July 12 Örock
Live music on the island of Gåsören in the Skelleftehamn archipelago. This year Åke Söderlund, Angelica Lindberg & Agnes Roslund, Mandolinkille med O'vänner, Reverend Revolver, Lucid Blues and The Rocketeers will be on stage. Boats will depart from the pilot station (lotsstationen).
July 14 Wihlborg jazz band
Jan-Åke Wihlborg’s sextet plays rhythmical and sympathetic jazz on Kyrkholmen.
July 14–15 Skråmträsk country festival
The local country giants Ben Carbine & the 18 Wheelers shares a stage with Ags Connolly, John Henry, Ellinor Springstrike & Gareth Nugent, Native Sons, NCB, Tennessee Road and the previous Carpe Wade lead vocalist Fritte Enqvist’s newly started band Reverend Revolver, when country music again will sound over the fields of Skråmträsk.
July 18 Music at Bryggarbacken
After a highly praised tour of Spain with sold-out concerts the rock band Gin Lady will play on home turf. Support: the alt-rock trio New Haven.
July 20–23 Burträsksvängen
The biggest folk music festival in northern Sweden puts on a varied programme for all ages in a beautiful setting. The highlights include concerts with this year’s honorary folk musician Rolf Larsson, the flutists in Bazooka Sub Trio, Skellefteå spelmanslag and the somewhat racy group Våtmark that plays ”smutty and dirty songs”.
July 22–23 Trästockfestivalen
Sweden’s largest music and culture festival turns 32 this year. This is celebrated with performances at Nordanå with a number of artists such as Bob Hund, INVSN, Hög Sjö and Jackie Mere.
July 25 Music at Bryggarbacken
Double bass, rhythmical drums, almost tearful harmonica and guitar solos. All classic ingredients for true blues. On this evening performed by Steamin Jesaja. Support act: Skellefteå’s blues rock newcomers Lucid blues.
July 29 Sävenäs pop- och visfestival
Since the start in 2014, pop- och visfestivalen located by the outlet of the Skellefteå river has grown to become one of the biggest music events in the local area. On stage this year you will be able to see Fredde & Lova, Norra Glädjen, Mika, Barons Court, Live & Ann-Sofie, Träsket, The Songsters and Mindre Modiga Män.
