The Swedish Transport Administration has announced that the E4 will be resurfaced from Daglösten in the south to Bureå in the north. The work is expected to last from Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 18.
The work will take place between 6:00 in the morning and 8:00 in the evening. During this time, accessibility will be limited as traffic will be regulated by a pilot vehicle and traffic lights.
– We have to close lanes while the work is ongoing. The asphalt laying machine is about 80 meters long since it's a so-called remixing that is being laid. Then the asphalt has to cool down before we let traffic pass, so you have to expect waiting times, says Maria Tenskog Lundholm, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, in a press release.
Remixing is a method that involves reusing existing surfacing by heating, milling up, and mixing with a smaller amount of new mass on-site.
– We want to urge road users to plan their trip and start well in advance, for example to the airport. It is also important to show consideration for those who work along the roads and keep the speed down. We would like to ask for your understanding that it will be a bit chaotic on the roads this summer, says Tenskog Lundholm.
The Swedish Transport Administration is carrying out several roadworks in the municipality right now, including on road 775 towards the airport which is closed until the end of September.
