Klockarhöjden completed – The tenants have now moved in

The apartment modules Klockarhöjden were in place in September. Since then, the interiors and facade have been constructed with the result of 114 completed apartments with a moving-in date only two days late.

The ground works for the Klockarhöjden project started in October 2021 and it was ready for tenants to move in on July 3.

The only thing left now is some groundwork for the construction company Contractor to finish. The delay is due to the company not getting access to the land according to plan.

– We prioritised completing the inside for the tenants. Accessibility around entrances has been finished as well as waste management and one of the car parks. What is left to do is another car park, the courtyard with bike storage and flower beds. The landscaping is to all be finished in the beginning of autumn, says Jonny Nilsson, project manager at Skebo.

The deal between Lindbäcks and Skebo was the first within a new framework agreement. Ellen Bäckman, business developer at Lindbäcks has previously told Norran that Lindbäcks is the most environmentally friendly alternative.

Could a similar deal be made again?

– That’s not impossible! We’re happy with how the work progressed and with the result, Jonny says.

All apartments were rented out before the moving-in date. One of those who are moving in at Klockarhöjden is Jonatan Holmkvist who just finished his studies in Luleå.

– I think I’ll be happy here for the time being but my girlfriend and I would ideally want something bigger. We have now rented a two-bedroom apartment but it would be nice to have perhaps 80-90 square metres.

Was it difficult to find somewhere to live in town?

– Not if I compare it to a couple of years ago, when I was around 18. My perception then was that you would have had to be in the queue since before you were born or know someone who owns a property. It’s true there’s tough competition now as well but there are so many new building projects.
