"We believe that both customers and the travel agency longed for this. It has taken almost 25 years to get flights there again," says Robert Lindberg, Skellefteå Airport.

– We believe that both customers and the travel company have been longing for this. It has taken nearly 25 years to reintroduce trips to this destination, Lindberg remarks.

Previously, charter operator TUI has already offered travel options from Skellefteå Airport this year, including charter trips to Gran Canaria, Rhodes, and Antalya. Now, the company is expanding its services with departures to southern Tenerife.

Tenerife is the largest and most populated island in the Canary Islands archipelago, which comprises seven major islands, with Gran Canaria likely being the most well-known.

Two departures are planned, one shortly before Christmas 2023 and another in mid-February 2024.
