Kittens rescued outside grocery store in Skellefteå

Police were called to a store in Skellefteå on Friday afternoon due to a suspected case of animal cruelty.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., a police patrol responded to a grocery store following reports of a man sitting outside the store with a box full of kittens.

The police apprehended the man holding the box in accordance with the Public Order Act, which allows for the removal of intoxicated individuals. Witnesses were interviewed, and a report was filed regarding animal cruelty.

–There is information indicating suspected animal cruelty, says Maria Linné, spokesperson for the Västerbotten Police.

The kittens were taken into custody by the police. The County Administrative Board will be contacted for further handling of the animals.
