Colder weather, offset by increased wind and hydropower production, is expected to keep electricity prices low this fall, according to a new forecast by energy company Bixia.
Prices may be slightly higher than in October 2023 on average, with factors such as predicted cold and dry weather potentially pushing prices up.
However, this is balanced by lower industrial production. Johan Sigvardsson, Bixia’s price analyst, predicts a system price of 35 öre/kWh for October, slightly higher than last year’s 31 öre/kWh. September's price was exceptionally low at 23 öre/kWh.
Here is the expected electricity price for October and November 2024 (last year's figures in parentheses):

- October: 35 öre/kWh (31 öre last year)
- November: 50 öre/kWh (86 öre last year)
