Early on the Wednesday morning, at 07:14 am, an alarm was received by the emergency services about a fire inside the Northvolt area in Skellefteå. According to the message there is a fire inside a building on the site.
Sanna Bäckström, communications officer at Northvolt Ett, writes in a message to Norran that it regards a fire at the recycling facility Revolt Ett:
– What we currently know is that there is smoke coming from a room inside the recycling facility Revolt Ett. Revolt Ett is still in the installation phase and no production is ongoing. The building has been evacuated and the emergency services are on-site to investigate the fire.

– The emergency services say they have put out the fire now and are working on the ventilation. At one point there were nine vehicles on-site but now several of them have left, says an emergency services operator at SOS Alarm.

Sanna Bäckström informs Norran about the situation at Revolt about two hours after the alarm went off:
– The smoke from a fire that developed in a technical room has now been extinguished. The emergency services have left the area and our staff continues the effort to air out the premises, which will be ongoing throughout the day. No injuries to persons have been reported.
