Saqlain Mehdi says that every car he saw had the flyer placed behind the windshield wipers.
– There were hundreds of them. Is this even legal?, he wonders.
Youssef Mohanna is the purchasing manager at Umeå-based Västerbottens Bilcenter. When Norran contacted him on Wednesday, he said that many Northvolt employees had responded to the offer.
– We have had several people from Northvolt contact us wanting to sell their cars, he says.
Can you understand the reaction from employees who feel that you are taking advantage of the situation and that it seems disrespectful?
– No, we just want to help. We have previously sold cars to many Northvolt workers, and now several of them have reached out to us for help selling their cars. This has nothing to do with exploiting the situation; we want what’s best for both us and them. Many don’t know how to sell a car in Sweden, and to prevent them from selling it themselves on Blocket and risking being scammed, we think it’s better to go through a car dealership, explains the purchasing manager.
He was the one who placed the flyers in the Northvolt parking lot this week.
– The Northvolt employees we have helped told us that there are more staff members who would like assistance in selling their cars, which is why we went there and put up the flyers, says Mohanna.
