1. Visit a library.
Follow the example of 6-year-old Stella Schwarz and head to your nearest library. Borrow a stack of books to cozy up with on your sofa at home.
2. Sledding with friends
– Gather a group and head to the nearest sledding hill. Skellefteå has plenty of great options! Besides the children’s hill at Vitberget, you can try Solbacken’s outdoor park or hills in Sjungande Dalen, Prästbordet, Morö Backe, Anderstorp, and Erikslid. Outside central Skellefteå, you’ll find sledding hills in places like Boliden, Örviken, and Skelleftehamn.
3. Plan a cozy movie night.
Snuggle up on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn, light some candles, and enjoy your favorite film.
4. Take a walk in the daylight
Enjoy a winter stroll along one of Skellefteå's beautiful walking paths. If you'd like to walk in the forest during winter, try the Winter Walk at Vitberget. The trail is groomed by snowmobile and is about four kilometres long.
5. The Art Workshop, Sara Kulturhus
The Art Workshop is a space where children and adults can unleash their creativity to the fullest. No prior experience is needed, and participation is free of charge. Art educators Malin and Veronica provide a variety of materials for your own creative projects.
6. Go ice skating
There are several ice rinks in Skellefteå. For an extra special experience, visit the ice rink at Nordanå, where you can skate under the floodlights to the sound of beautiful music.
7. Take a trip on the ski trail
Put on your skis and take a trip on the nearest ski trail or illuminated track. The municipality has groomed ski trails in most villages and communities.
