The alarm was raised around 3:30 AM on Stålvägen east in Skellefteå, where an apartment had been completely engulfed in flames. Emergency services dispatched eight units, with three more en route by 4:00 AM.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but it is believed to have started in the attic of the building, which is connected by loft passages. The building is three stories tall.

An ambulance is on the scene, but there are no immediate reports of injuries. However, several residents have been evacuated during the rescue operation.

A person with suspected smoke inhalation has been transported by ambulance to Skellefteå Hospital, according to the rescue services on site.
