The slow return of heat to Ursviken/Skelleftehamn

In the central area of Skellefteå, district heating was back at half past midnight early on Friday morning. In Ursviken/Skelleftehamn, it wasn't until around 8 in the morning. "That's why customers still feel cold, so we ask them to be patient," says Mimmi Jonsson, communications manager at Skellefteå Kraft.

District heating has been fully operational for all residents since 8am on Friday morning. Yesterday's power cut, which affected 30,000 customers, also stopped the district heating pumps. Many customers, especially in Ursviken and Skelleftehamn, have contacted Skellefteå Kraft about their cold homes.

– The district heating is, as I said, in full operation, but depending on the size of the house, it takes different amounts of time for the house to regain full heat; about 4-8 hours, Jonsson explains.

– Everyone should now have hot water in their taps, Jonsson continues.

– And everyone should soon have their heating back up. What we are asking from our customers now is a little patience. The heat is on its way, but the system is a bit sluggish. It's also very cold outside, which doesn't help," she says.
