Carl-Viktor to be replaced by the sports bar Allstar.
After nearly ten years in Skellefteå, the sports bar Allstar closed its doors in 2019. Norran has previously reported that the bar has wanted to return and that the chain has been looking for premises. Now Allstar is taking over Carl-Viktor's location on Nygatan.
– It's in a good location and just the right size. Now we will renovate it to look like our restaurants. Then the menu will be reworked to match our menus, says Mikael Johansson and continues:
– The focus will be on burgers and meat, but also a wider menu including salads, like a typical American sports bar. What will be unique about Allstar Skellefteå is that we will have a higher class of pizza.
Allstar will be run by Carl-Viktor's current owner, Flurim Luboja, together with his father Vllaznim Luboja.
– We have known Flurim for a long time. He was also involved in Allstar Skellefteå before we closed at Guldtorget. We have had a good dialogue with him. Both he and his father are hardworking, which is a prerequisite for succeeding in the restaurant industry. They are prepared to work in the kitchen itself, which one must be able to do in today's restaurant world.
Johansson says that, as there were at Carl Viktor, there will be live performances at Allstar, but the main focus will be on food and sports.
– We will keep the live performances. They're so popular at Carl-Viktor that it would be foolish not to. There will be some nightlife, but it won't be a major nightclub. The focus will be on food and sports, he says.

When Allstar closed in 2019, the then-franchisee William Wu explained that the reason for the bar's closure was that it was not profitable. However, Johansson is not worried about opening in town again.

What's different this time?
– It worked really well at the beginning; we know that the concept works. Allstar had been in Skellefteå for ten years before it closed. Restaurants have ups and downs, and one must be able to endure the dips. But that might not be possible if you haven't had the restaurant for very long. Of course, you must also respect the market.
Allstar is expected to open in September.
