Priceless details on upcoming Skellefteå apartments

Due to the construction crisis, fewer rental housing projects are being undertaken in Skellefteå municipality. Here, we map out all apartment blocks that are in progress, with most projects still in the planning stage. The list exclusively focuses on rental apartments.

Ongoing construction projects with rental availability
 

1) Byske, Bäckgatan

Rental units: 24

Owner: Skebo

Units still available: Yes

The apartments are available for rental, and the registration period is until October 23. Move-in date is on February 1, 2024.

2) Kåge, Brännsvedjan

Rental units: 188

Owner: Arkadia Bostad

Trustee: Riksbyggen

Units still available: Yes

The first phase of units in Brännsvidberget in northern Kåge had move-in just before the summer, and are all occupied. Later this autumn, the remaining 108 apartments will be released. They will have move-in dates in three stages: at New Year, in February, and in March 2024.

3) Getberget, Lindbäcks

Rental units: 155

Future owner: Skebo

Units still available: Yes

The groundworks have recently begun. The entire construction is expected to be completed before Christmas 2024.

4) Skelleftehamn, Jullen

Rental units: 180

Owner: Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget

Units still available: Yes

The apartments at Myrängen will be released in three stages. The first two blocks are scheduled for release in early 2024, with move-in planned for the autumn of 2024.  

5) Bureå

Rental units: 40

Owner: Skebo

Units still available: Yes

The apartments will be available for reservation in February 2024, with move-in scheduled for June 1 later in the year.

Projects planned but not yet started

6) Byske, Kammargatan

Rental units: 46

Project owner: Contractor

Zoning plan: Exists

Building permit: Exists

– The project is on hold. We have been on the lookout for buyers among a number of housing companies, but there have been no takers as yet. At the moment, Skebo is also building in Byske, and perhaps it will be easier when their houses have tenants. Then we'll know more about the demand in Byske, says Kurt Nyström, CEO of Contractor Bygg.

7) Byske, the old municipal building

– The project is on hold because we haven't found a buyer, and we've offered it to several housing companies. We have the sketches ready, but we won't apply for a building permit until we know if the renovation can proceed, says Kurt Nyström, Contractor Bygg.

8) Kåge, Sörbyn
