The fatal accident on the E4 near Dalkarlså on July 9th, 2023 involved two motorcycles and a truck. One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 50s, died in the crash. The truck driver, a man in his 70s, is charged with causing death, causing bodily harm, and gross negligence in traffic, according to VK.
The indictment alleges the accident occurred when the truck turned out from a parking lay-by.
To avoid a collision, a motorcyclist swerved and braked sharply, leading to a collision between the motorcycles. The prosecutor believes the truck driver caused the accident by not ensuring a clear roadway before turning.
