Around 18:00 last night, police evacuated Central Station (Centralstationen) in Stockholm due to a bomb threat. A woman and a man, both around 30-35 years old, were arrested, writes Aftonbladet.
The duo were carrying a bag in which the bomb had been hidden. The bomb was a so-called thermos bomb. In the bag, police also found a knife and narcotics.
According to information given to Aftonbladet, the bomb was not planned to explode in Stockholm but rather was intended to be delivered to a city in northern Sweden.
The station and surrounding areas were quickly evacuated by police. The man and woman are now in custody, suspected of preparing for public destruction and drug offenses.
Both have previously been convicted of multiple crimes.
Recently, more and more people have been arrested for similar crimes. It is mainly younger people who are tasked with delivering weapons and other items to different locations. Previously, most people arrested have been on their way to Denmark.
