The Arctic Circle Race, launched in 2017 with 60 participants, has steadily grown in popularity. Last year's record of 412 registrations was followed by a slightly smaller but still impressive turnout of 352 runners this year. The race, set in challenging mountain terrain, promises to be another exciting competition.

Historically, the race has attracted a predominantly female participant base. "Women seem to be more adventurous and capable of embracing challenges," said Alexander Söderström, Race Director at Experience Arjeplog, in a press release.

Organized by Experience Arjeplog and Magasin Silvervägen, the race organizers are hoping for favorable weather conditions. However, the current forecast predicts significant rainfall.

– Wet conditions can make the race challenging, but it's generally a fun event enjoyed by many, said Alexander Söderström.

– Our experienced team is excited to host the race this Saturday. Late registrations are welcome.

The 170-kilometer course, stretching from Guijaure to the Arctic Circle, offers diverse terrain.
