The Young Swedish Design exhibition and Bea Szenfeld’s Haute Papier have proven to be major draws for visitors to Sara Kulturhus and Skellefteå Konsthall.
– These exhibitions have been incredibly popular, says Anna-Karin Larsson, curator.
Skellefteå Konsthall is hosting an artist talk featuring Bea Szenfeld, moderated by Karin Kakan Hermansson.
–The artist talk is already fully booked, and we have a waiting list, says Larsson with evident satisfaction.
– This has never happened before.
– After the summer, we will calculate the total number of visitors and expect to set a new attendance record.
– Bea Szenfeld’s high profile, thanks to her appearances in various media, has attracted a wide audience, from fashion enthusiasts to casual viewers. Young Swedish Design (Ung Svensk Forms), with its diverse range of works, has also resonated strongly with visitors.
On Saturday, August 24, Bea Szenfeld's exhibition, Haute Papier, will be expanded to include her poignant piece, Station 5, a powerful exploration of grief after the loss of a child. Over several years, she has meticulously crafted sixty paper babies. Additionally, her groundbreaking art installation, "At Least We Have Dogs," will be unveiled for the first time. Constructed from vast quantities of formatted paper and countless meters of delicate thread, this is Szenfeld's largest artwork to date.
– We're thrilled to take full advantage of Skellefteå Konsthall's space now that the Young Swedish Design exhibition is concluding, says Larsson.
– This opportunity to expand Szenfeld's exhibition is incredibly exciting, especially with the inclusion of her monumental installation, "At Least We Have Dogs."
