The channel will collate the best entertainment and documentary programs from BBC Brit and BBC Earth respectively, and replaces both in the company's current channel mix in Swedish TV packages, the BBC says in a press release.

BBC Nordic+ is being launched as an on-demand service, where viewers can stream the programs from the new channel's archive.

BBC Nordic will feature well-known favourites such as "QI", "The Graham Norton Show" and "Life Below Zero" as well as seasons of "The Great British Bake Off" before it moved to Channel 4 in 2016, and the documentary series "Serengeti", which is renewed for a third season.

– We have handpicked programs that we know our Nordic audience loves, with exciting new additions in entertainment and lifestyle that expand our content and appeal to a wider and more diverse target group. The launch of BBC Nordic+ also gives our Nordic viewers a BBC platform for both TV and on-demand," says BBC spokesman, Arran Tindall

Among the programs that will be available on BBC Nordic from the start is the new series "Louis Theroux Interviews..." from the award-winning documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux. In the program, Theroux gets close to Britain's biggest stars such as singer Rita Ora and actress Dame Judi Dench in a way that only he can, according to the BBC.
