The Green Good Design award is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum, an international museum of architecture and design. Founded by architect Edgar Kaufman Jr. and pioneers of modern design, the award has been bestowed since 1950.

The award's motivation for Vidde highlighted its focus on circularity, timelessness, and longevity, resulting in minimal environmental impact while maximizing usability and adaptability.

He emphasized the successful collaboration between Vidde Snow Mobility, the state research institute RISE, and the renowned Italian design firm Pininfarina, known for iconic cars such as the Ferrari Testarossa. Vidde was launched in February at the IceHotel in Jukkasjärvi.

Vidde's unique selling point is its durability and repairability.

Following the February launch, three snowmobiles were tested by Vidde's partners: Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Skellefteå Kraft, and Skistar. Based on these tests, minor mechanical adjustments were made to Vidde.

This winter, testing will continue with four snowmobiles, assembled in a workshop in Småland and fine-tuned at Storklinta ski center near Jörn.

– We anticipate commencing serial production in time for the winter of 2025, said Lystrup.
