Oscar Möller accounted for two of the goals as Skellefteå AIK won 5–1 against Rögle and advanced to the semi-finals. Rögle were missing key players such as Adam Tambellini who took an elbow to the head in game five, as well as Daniel Zaar and the full-back Eerlend Lesund.

In their absence Skellefteå finally shook off the indifferent form that had characterised the first five quarter finals and found the ruthless touch that had evaded them since the end of the regular season.

Joakim Lindström, right, opened the scoring in the sixth quarter-final, as Skellefteå AIK finally secured a semi-final place.

Rögle were put mercilessly to the sword by a team that look like they may be on their way back to the form that took them to second place in regular season.

Möller, the AIK captain, said after the match: "This is only our short-term goal met. Now we regroup to go further."

AIK's opponents in the semi-finals could be northern neighbours Luleå who play their decisive semi-final game against Växjö on Tuesday night. The series is currently tied at 3-3.
