Skellefteå AIK's injury problems ease

Four players were absent when Björklöven visited on Friday. At Monday's practice three of them were back. 'They are improving gradually,' says team doctor Karin Granberg.

Arvid Lundberg was back on the ice on Monday after missing Friday's match against Björklöven.

There was a long list of absentees on Friday, as Anton Heikkinen, Arvid Lundberg, Filip Sandberg, and Linus Söderström were all missing when AIK beat Björklöven 4-3 in a pre-season warm-up match.

But after a weekend of rest, Skellefteå AIK had three players back. Sandberg, Söderström and Lundberg were all present and completed the entire training session on Monday.

– Linus had a respiratory infection, Arvid is on the mend, Granberg added:

Filip and Anton are recovering from injuries.

Sandberg, who lined up with Rickard Hugg and Jonathan Johnson on Monday, is being monitored daily as he recovers.

On the other hand, Anton Heikkinen, who avoided a fracture when injured against Modo last week, is a little further away, despite his speedy recovery.

– Anton will probably take a bit longer (to return), but the progress has been surprisingly good, says Granberg.

Gustaf Lindvall, who underwent surgery, also took part in training on Monday.
