After losing 2-1 in Linköping on Friday, Skellefteå AIK beat Djurgården last night to chalk up their first ever SDHL win after their promotion from the second tier in the spring.

After a shaky beginning, in the second period AIK's Isabella Pozzi intercepted a clearance attempt by the home team. She fired a shot that rebounded off the boards behind the net, leaving Ida Kuoppala with an open goal to score.

Just three minutes later, Nicoline Søndergaard Jensen received a pass from Kuoppala and broke away. Jensen skilfully faked out the opposing goalie, Ida Boman, and slid the puck past her leg pad to extend the lead.

With 10 minutes to go, Tyreskog pulled one back for the home team, but AIK held on for an historic win.
