AIK take easy three points against Modo

Disappointment lingered from Tuesday's CHL final defeat, but Skellefteå AIK bounced back emphatically on Thursday, trouncing Modo 7-3 in a one-sided affair. The win catapults AIK firmly into the top tier of the league, momentarily erasing the sting of their European heartbreak.

Tears flowed freely earlier this week as the CHL silver medals hung heavy around the AIK players' necks. However, the relentless SHL grind offers no time for wallowing. With just days between matches, AIK seized their opportunity for redemption, traveling to Örnsköldsvik to face struggling Modo.

From the opening puck drop, it was a dominant display by AIK. Despite Modo's early goal from Erik Walli-Walterholm, the visitors responded with a flurry of strikes, turning the scoreline on its head within a minute. A goal spree in the middle period sealed the deal, leaving Modo's porous defense exposed.

This commanding victory propels AIK back into the upper echelons of the league, a much-needed boost after their European disappointment. With their sights set firmly on domestic success, AIK will be looking to build on this momentum in the weeks ahead.
