Skellefteå AIK entered the game brimming with confidence. In their previous home SHL match, they clinched the Le Mat trophy, and Linus Söderström recorded a shutout.

Söderström once again maintained a clean sheet, and Skellefteå AIK secured a victory.

After a thrilling final minute of the first period, AIK established a two-goal lead, capitalizing on Växjö's errors and Vuollet's persistence. Vuollet's determination paid off with a crucial goal in the final seconds of the period.

AIK carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission and maintained the advantage for the next 20 minutes.

Unlike their previous match against HV71, where they lost their composure after conceding a goal, AIK remained focused. Leo Sundqvist scored his first SHL goal early in the third period, followed by Oskar Nilsson's clinching goal.

Despite a disappointing attendance, Skellefteå AIK's performance was impressive
