Skellefteå AIK immediately took control of the game, dominating the first period. Despite being the visiting team, HV71 found themselves under the cosh but managed to prevent AIK scoring.

AIK's dominance continued into the second period, with Max Lindholm setting up Axel Sandin Pellikka for a goal. A well-executed play at the blue line resulted in a perfect shot and a 2-0 lead for AIK.

However, in hockey, a two-goal lead is never a guarantee. A rebound quickly shifted momentum, but Skellefteå AIK managed to hold on for a victory despite three injuries.

Two HV71 players and one AIK player, Frans Haara, sustained injuries during the game. Haara, an AIK defenseman, remained down on the ice after taking a knee to the head and required assistance.

While securing three points is positive, AIK's defense continues to be a concern with another player sidelined due to injury.
