Five seconds of loose play costs AIK dear

The first derby match of the season is played in Luleå. Skellefteå AIK came to the meeting with a double desire for revenge - after losing the last time the teams met, but also after losing their last match against Färjestad. But there was no revenge. Five key seconds ultimately led to another defeat.

Skellefteå AIK lost again against Luleå - Brennan Shinnimin and Petter Granberg engaged in a heated clash in the second period.

Luleå hosted Skellefteå AIK in front of a full house and a great atmosphere.

The crowd did not see any significant early chances and the first 20 minutes were more of a physical battle than anything else.

In the middle period, AIK came on strong, and it was a minor miracle that they didn't take the lead in the first two minutes. Andreas Johnson had a great chance but missed, and seconds later the new signing went close again. But, again, there were no goals.

The third period was similarly tight and evenly matched where every attack, every half chance, and every shot could mean three points.

Early in the third period, the home team had a power play, and took the lead through Linus Omark.

As well as conceding a goal, in the same play, AIK lost Elias Salomonsson And then things exploded. Straight from the faceoff Luleå made it 2-0, and that was that.

Five disappointing seconds from the visitors decided the game, and Skellefteå AIK had lost to Luleå for the second time in a row.
