During a Monday appearance on the Hockeymorgon podcast the AIK coach was asked about his plans for the 2025/2026 season.

– This is my final season in Skellefteå, revealed Ohlsson, who has been linked to a return to Frölunda HC in numerous Swedish news outlets.

In an interview with Norran, Ohlsson explained his decision to announce the news.

– There's been so much speculation, and when I was asked if I would continue with Skellefteå AIK, I decided, for AIK's sake, to confirm that this would be my last season here, he said.

How does it feel to make this announcement public?

– I previously informed both the management and the players that I would be leaving at the end of the season, so it's not a surprise within the team, Ohlsson replied.

– However, it might be more of a shock to those outside the club.

Does this mean you'll face fewer questions now?

– Yes, I think so, the AIK coach said with a smile.

Ohlsson's two assistant coaches, Andreas Falk and Pierre Johnsson, have contracts that extend beyond the upcoming season. Falk is under contract until the 2025/26 season, while Johnsson is contracted until the summer of 2027.
