AIK toppled by bottom team, Modo

Skellefteå AIK endured their fourth consecutive home loss on Thursday as bottom-ranked Modo secured victory in a shootout.

Although AIK clinched a spot on aggregtae in the CHL finals with the loss to Vitkovice, the game marked the beginning of a four-game losing streak following losses to Frölunda and Örebro. 

Former AIK player Adam Pettersson set the tone for Modo, scoring in the first period for a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Sampo Ranta extended Modo's lead to 1-2. 

Despite AIK's chances in overtime, Modo won the shootout. 

The loss prevented AIK from catching up with SHL leaders Växjö Lakers and Färjestad BK.
