Following Tuesday's loss, AIK knew the importance of a swift return to winning ways. They started brilliantly by scoring the opening goal within two minutes. Andreas Johnson capitalized on the opportunity, directing the puck past Rögle goaltender Petr Kváča.

Linus Söderström, returning to the net for AIK, played a pivotal role throughout the game. He made a crucial early save and consistently contributed to the team's defensive efforts.

The second period saw both sides battle for control, with AIK maintaining the upper hand initially. Oscar Lindberg, after hitting the post earlier, redeemed himself by scoring the second goal with an assist from Rickard Hugg.

AIK's strong defensive line continued to shine throughout the game, with Jonathan Pudas showcasing his dedication by blocking a shot with his body. While Rögle, considered a pre-season favorite, fought hard for a chance at the play-in, AIK managed to control most of the third period.

Despite Söderström's best efforts, Rögle managed to reduce the deficit through Simon Ryfors. With three minutes remaining, a crucial penalty conceded by Rögle provided AIK with a golden opportunity.

In the closing moments, Pär Lindholm seemingly scored the winning goal into an empty net, but the call was initially overturned due to time expiring. After a video review prompted by protests, the referees awarded the goal, sealing the victory for AIK.

This crucial win ensures AIK remain in the fight for the series win and demonstrates their resilience after a challenging start to the week.
